By Road:

PLEASE NOTE OUR POSTAL ADDRESS IS GARTLY/HUNTLY BUT WE ARE SITUATED AT COYNACHIE AMONG THE HILLS BETWEEN THE TOWN OF HUNTLY AND VILLAGE OF GARTLY.

From Aberdeen City & Aberdeen Airport at Dyce:

Follow signs for Inverness A96. The journey is 37 miles long and takes approximately 50 minutes to drive. As you near Huntly on the A96 you pass a BP garage on your left hand side and, after a further mile, turn left at the next roundabout, signed A97 Rhynie. Continue straight along this road for about 2 miles and cross a narrow bridge (only one car can cross at a time) area know as Bridgend of Gartly, Bus shelter on your right hand side. immediately after crossing the bridge exit the A97 onto the second road on right signposted Coynachie, immediately on this road you will pass a house with high hedge (Sunnyside Hse) and small white telecom building at the start of this single track road, continue along this road for a further 2 miles passing a house ‘Ault Duch’ and then passing two cottages on your left  and you will see then see our pond and entrance to “Coynachie” shortly after on your left. Please drive up to the house to park.  You have arrived!

Arriving from Strathdon area via Rhynie direction on A97

Pass the village of Gartly on your right hand side and continue along the A97 for a further 3 miles, passing Culdrain and Mytice roads and then several cottages near road side on your left hand side, soon after this there is a high hedgerow and shortly you will see traffic signs’ Forestry vehicles turning’, please slow down and indicate left as Coynachie turning immediately around this corner, exit A97 onto the Coynachie Road. Immediately on this road you will pass a house with high hedge (Sunnyside Hse) and small white telecom building on your left hand side, at the start of this single track road, continue on along road for a further 2 miles passing a house ‘Ault Duch’ and then passing two cottages on your left  and you will see then see our pond and entrance to “Coynachie” shortly after on your left. Please drive up to the house to park.  You have arrived!

(Bridgend of Gartly (narrow bridge only room for one car crossing) Bus Shelter and Gartly Community Hall on Tillathrowrie Road you have passed any of these then you have passed the Coynachie Road, you need to find a safe place to turnaround).

From Inverness:

Follow signs for Aberdeen on the A96. The journey is 65 miles long and takes approximately 1hr and 30 minutes to drive. At the Huntly Roundabout, turn right signed A97 Rhynie.  Continue straight along this road for about 2 miles and cross a narrow bridge,(only one car can cross at a time) area know as Bridgend of Gartly, Bus shelter on your right hand side. immediately after crossing the bridge exit the A97 onto the second road on right signposted Coynachie, immediately on this road you will pass a house with high hedge (Sunnyside Hse) and small white telecom building at the start of this single track road, continue along this road for a further 2 miles passing a house ‘Ault Duch’ and then passing two cottages on your left  and you will see then see our pond and entrance to “Coynachie” shortly after on your left. Please drive up to the house to park.  You have arrived!

For further information please contact Aberdeen Airport on 0870 0400 006 or Inverness Airport on + 44 (0)1667 464000.  Both airports offer a range of car hire services and currency exchange.

There are regular flights between all major London airports (Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton) and Aberdeen and Inverness airports.  Aberdeen’s Dyce airport is on the North side of the City and is closer to Coynachie Guest House than Inverness.

By Rail:

First ScotRail offers a regular service between Inverness & Aberdeen that stops at Huntly. For train timetables please visit www.firstgroup.com/scotrail/.
